Pregnant woman killed, husband critically wounded in shooting near Malishevo
A married couple was found shot in their bedroom overnight; the 25-year-old woman later died and her 26-year-old husband remains in critical condition.
A pregnant woman was killed and her husband critically wounded in an overnight shooting in the village of Kervasari near Malishevo, authorities said.
Police, forensic teams at the scene; a revolver was seized
“The case was reported to the police last night at around 23:20, and upon arrival at the scene police units found a married couple wounded by a firearm in the bedroom,” confirmed Vljera Krasniqi, spokesperson for the Kosovo police for the Gjakova region.
Emergency services transported the two victims to the Clinical Centre in Pristina shortly after midnight. “A 25‑year‑old woman arrived with no signs of life, with gunshot wounds. Her husband, 26, was admitted with gunshot wounds and is being treated in the Emergency Center. His health condition is very serious,” the Emergency Center said.
Medical staff declared the woman dead at the hospital, while doctors continue intensive treatment for the husband. Investigators have not released the couple’s names or a motive for the attack.
Police and forensic teams processed the house and seized a revolver believed to be the weapon used in the attack. Authorities said investigators are working to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the shooting.
Local police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward as the probe continues.
