UHMR: Variable clouds, intermittent rain and light snow on higher mountains
Morning temperatures 1–10°C, daytime 11–19°C; Skopje 6°C morning, 16°C daytime, northerly winds stronger along the Vardar valley.
The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) says today will bring variable cloudiness with intermittent, locally scattered rain across the country. On some of the higher mountains the precipitation is expected to change to light snow.
Wind and temperatures
Winds will be moderate from the north, locally along the Vardar valley periodically strengthening. Morning temperatures across the country will range from 1 to 10 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will be between 11 and 19 degrees Celsius, the UHMR reports.
In Skopje the day will be variably cloudy with occasional rain and a moderate northerly wind that may strengthen in parts of the basin. Morning temperature in the capital will reach 6 degrees Celsius and the daytime high 16 degrees Celsius.
Looking ahead, UHMR forecasts that during the weekend and at the start of the new week conditions will stabilize: sunny and settled weather is expected, with variable cloudiness developing during daytime hours.
Residents in higher terrain should be prepared for a brief switch to snow on exposed mountain tops, while people in lowland and basin areas should expect showers and cooler northerly gusts.
