Vice Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikolovski meets German investors — transport infrastructure and business conditions in focus
Investors focused on access roads, connectivity, electromobility and public transport links to industrial zones.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikolovski met with members of the Macedonian‑German business association and German investors to discuss transport infrastructure and the business environment for companies operating in North Macedonia.
Key topics: access roads, connectivity and workforce mobility
At the meeting investors underlined practical concerns such as access roads to production sites, improving overall traffic connectivity, and integrating electromobility solutions. They also asked for better public transport links to industrial zones and factories, and raised questions about conditions for international professional drivers.
Antje Wandelt, director of AHK North Macedonia and a board member of the Macedonian‑German Business Association, stressed the strategic importance of functioning transport networks for the country’s competitiveness.
“Around 70 percent of North Macedonia's exports are directed to the European Union, and nearly 40 percent of total exports are intended for Germany. This shows how closely North Macedonia is linked to the European market and how important developed transport infrastructure is for the country's competitiveness,” Wandelt said.
Wandelt added that timely deliveries, reliable transport corridors and predictable logistics costs are vital for companies tied into European supply chains, and that German firms are ready to contribute expertise, technologies and services to future infrastructure projects. The business association also emphasised that improved infrastructure speeds up goods transport, supports employee mobility, enables expansion of production capacities and helps attract new foreign investment.
