Two-day international conference on multidimensional poverty opens at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje
Two-day academic event in Skopje includes presentation of a national research project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science.
A two-day international scientific conference titled "Multidimensional Poverty: Measurement, Trends and Challenges" has opened at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje.
The programme brings together academic sessions focused on methods for measuring multidimensional poverty, recent trends and the policy challenges those trends create. Organisers say the event will combine presentations of empirical results with methodological debates.
Project findings on the agenda
Alongside the academic discussions, the conference is set to present findings from the research project "Determinants of multidimensional poverty: spatial mapping and new determinants for social and development policies at the national level."
The project is financed by the Ministry of Education and Science under the public call for financing research projects of state faculties, scientific institutes and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA).
Organisers expect the conference outputs to contribute to evidence-based social and development policy at the national level by offering spatial analyses and new indicators that can inform targeted interventions.
