Drinking water banned in four villages near Tetovo
JKP "Shar" announced that water-quality analyses found the local supply unsuitable for drinking and ordered a ban until further notice.

Local authorities near Tetovo have warned residents that drinking water in several nearby villages is currently unsafe. The municipal utility issued the notice after laboratory tests showed the supply failed to meet drinking-water standards.
The restriction affects the villages of Poroj, Dzepchishte, Golema Rechica and Mala Rechica, covering the area from the cemetery in Mala Rechica to Golema Rechica. The utility that issued the announcement was JKP "Shar".
In its statement the utility said: "All residents of the villages Poroj, Dzepchishte, Golema Rechica and Mala Rechica from the cemetery in Mala Rechica to Golema Rechica are informed that, after water quality analyses, it was determined that the water does not meet the conditions for use as drinking water. Therefore, the use of the water for drinking is prohibited until the next notification from the competent institutions," JKP "Shar" said.
What residents should do
The utility advised people in the affected settlements to stop using the tap water for drinking until authorities lift the ban. Residents are likely to need alternative sources such as bottled water or water from safe distribution points while officials work on follow-up testing and any corrective measures.
JKP "Shar" said it will provide further information as soon as new results are available and urged citizens to follow instructions from the competent public health and water-supply authorities.
