Earthquake magnitude 2.7 with epicenter Delchevo–Berovo felt in southeast
Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje says the quake was felt in Pehchevo and Berovo with intensity 3 EMS.
Published on 15 September 2026 at 18:43. A shallow earthquake with a local Richter magnitude of 2.7 was felt on 15 September at 14:29 in the southeastern parts of the country, the Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje reported.
According to the Observatory's data, the epicenter was located in the Delchevo–Berovo epicentral area, roughly 122 kilometres southeast of Skopje.
The tremor was felt primarily across the southeastern region, especially in Pehchevo, Berovo and surrounding settlements, with an estimated intensity of three on the European Macroseismic Scale (EMS).
Appeal to residents
The Seismological Observatory asks residents who felt the earthquake to help with seismic research by completing the felt questionnaire available at: https://seismobsko.pmf.ukim.edu.mk/prasalnici or by calling the emergency number 112.
No reports of damage or injuries have been announced.
The Observatory continues to monitor seismic activity and will publish updates if further events occur.
