Traffic intensity up, no long delays at border crossings
Roads are dry and traffic is heavier outside urban areas; no long waits currently at border crossings on the North Macedonian side.
Traffic on national roads this morning is moving without major disruptions and road surfaces are dry, the Automoto Association of North Macedonia (AMSM) reports. Drivers should nonetheless expect heavier volumes outside urban areas.
According to AMSM, the intensity of vehicles on routes beyond towns and cities has increased compared with quieter periods, while the situation at border crossings remains fluid.
Border crossings and driving advice
On the North Macedonian side there are currently no longer delays for entering or leaving the country at the main border checkpoints, AMSM adds, but motorists are urged to remain vigilant during peak travel hours.
"AMSM recommends adjusting driving speed, obeying posted traffic signals and operating vehicles with caution, especially on roads through basins, river valleys and gorges where rockfalls may occur."
Authorities and road services continue to monitor conditions; drivers are advised to plan journeys with additional time for possible congestion and to follow real-time updates from traffic services.
