CMC: Smoke over Skopje comes from the Kitka fire
Strong winds are carrying smoke from a blaze on Kitka mountain in Studeničani and Zelenikovo; a Ministry of Interior helicopter has been deployed.

Smoke visible over Skopje this afternoon is being carried by strong winds from an active wildfire on Mount Kitka, in the territory of the Studeničani and Zelenikovo municipalities, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said.
So far a helicopter from the Ministry of Interior has been operating at the Kitka blaze to help bring the fire under control, the CMC added.
Other incidents recorded in the region
The CMC confirmed that, up to this moment, no report has been received of a possible fire on Mount Vodno.
In addition to the Kitka fire, authorities have recorded two separate fires on dry grass and low-degraded forest in the Municipality of Ilinden, and a forest fire near the village of Bojane in the Municipality of Saraj.
The Crisis Management Center said emergency services remain engaged at the affected sites and that strong winds are the main reason smoke from Kitka is now visible across Skopje.
