Kuzmanoska: Investments and exports drove 4.3% GDP growth in Q2 2026

Biljana Kuzmanoska, a Member of Parliament from VMRO-DPMNE, said at a press conference that North Macedonia’s 4.3 percent economic growth in the second quarter of 2026 was driven by a strong rise in investments, exports and construction activity.

She pointed to detailed sector figures as evidence that the expansion rests on tangible economic activity. "In the second quarter of 2026, gross investments increased by 16.5 percent, and exports of goods and services by 10.4 percent. Construction recorded an especially strong result with growth of 21.9 percent, while the manufacturing industry grew by 4.1 percent. These are important indicators for the structure of growth," Kuzmanoska said.

Kuzmanoska argued that higher investment creates new capacity and that rising exports help Macedonian firms enter foreign markets more easily. She framed these developments as part of a strategy for long-term improvement rather than a short-term spike.

Policy priorities and expected social impact

"For us this is particularly important because the goal is not a short-term result, but sustainable economic growth that creates new value. Therefore economic policy will continue to be directed at encouraging investments, supporting companies, implementing capital projects and improving the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy," the MP stressed.

She said the ultimate objective of those measures is to raise living standards through new jobs and higher incomes. "The next step is for these positive movements to be transformed into what matters most for citizens, namely more job opportunities, higher incomes and a better standard of living. And while the dregs of society rejoice in failures and want only for Macedonia not to succeed, we will work exclusively for the welfare of the citizens," she concluded.
