Menduh Taci says he will sue Ali Ahmeti if claims of a ‘partition’ document continue
Taci calls the alleged partition document a fabrication and says he will sue Ahmeti if the claims continue.
Menduh Taci, leader of the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA), announced he will pursue legal action against Ali Ahmeti if the leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) continues to assert that a document existed proposing the partition of Macedonia. Taci spoke after taking part in a commemoration for the anniversary of the death of Arben Xhaferi.
Disputing the document and its origins
Taci rejected the claim that any such document ever existed and accused what he called "pseudo-academics" of promoting the idea under the direction of UDBA of Serbia. He said the proposal was never the work of the Academy of Sciences and denied that Arben Xhaferi had any such paper.
"There was no document for the partition of Macedonia. That was an idea of several pseudo-academics, instructed by UDBA of Serbia. It was not the idea of the Academy of Sciences, nor did Arben Xhaferi have a document, because such does not exist. UDBA then told Ali Ahmeti: this is the way you can undermine the political organisation of the Albanians. And he speaks incoherently, that allegedly a document existed," said Taci.
Taci warned that he would take the matter to court if the statements continued. He framed the potential lawsuit as being filed in the name of the late Arben Xhaferi.
"I warn once again: if he continues to speak like this, I will file a lawsuit, in the name of Arben Xhaferi, because such an accusation is unacceptable," Taci said.
The exchange highlights continuing tensions between DPA and DUI over historical interpretations and political rhetoric. Taci’s announcement makes clear he is willing to seek judicial remedy should Ahmeti persist with the allegation about a supposed partition document.
