No prolonged delays at North Macedonia border crossings; state roads passable

Traffic intensity on roads outside urban centres is normal and flowing without significant interruptions. At border crossings on the North Macedonian side there are no longer delays for entry to or exit from the country.

State roads are passable and driving surfaces are dry at the moment, authorities report.

AMSM advice for drivers

The Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Macedonia (AMSM) recommends adapting speed to conditions, obeying traffic signs and exercising extra caution while driving. The association warns of potential rockfalls and landslides in basins, river valleys and gorges, and highlights specific stretches with higher risk: Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.

From April 15, the road between Ohrid and Resen through Galichica National Park is open to traffic for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

Drivers are advised to watch for temporary changes in road conditions and to follow instructions from traffic services until the situation stabilises.
