Average net wage in July 48 499 denars — 7,1% year-on-year rise
State Statistical Office: highest sectoral pay in information and communication, finance and mining.
The average net monthly wage in July this year amounted to 48 499 denars, marking an increase of 7,1 percent compared with the same month a year earlier, the State Statistical Office (DZS) reported today.
Key figures by sector
The highest average net wage per employee was recorded in the information and communication sector at 89 532 denars. That was followed by financial and insurance activities with 69 191 denars, and mining and quarrying with an average net wage of 59 258 denars.
The annual rise in wages was driven by increases in several sectors: financial and insurance activities grew by 10,7 percent, water supply and wastewater removal, waste management and remediation activities rose by 10,4 percent, and activities related to real estate increased by 9,6 percent.
Compared with the previous month, the average net wage rose by 0,2 percent. Month-on-month gains were recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities (+4,3 percent), wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+3,2 percent), and construction (+2,3 percent).
For context, the average net wage in June this year was 48 381 denars, which was lower by 1 163 denars compared with May; the June decline followed three months of growth.
