Interparty parliamentary group session in Skopje marks Ukraine’s Independence Day with support for the Crimean Platform

On the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia hosted a session of the Interparty Parliamentary Group for Support of the Crimean Platform.

Diplomats, parliamentarians and cultural presentations

The programme included speeches by Ukraine's ambassador Larisa Dir and the ambassadors of France, the Federal Republic of Germany and Poland — Kristof Le Rigoler, Petra Dreksler and Mariusz Brimora respectively. Representatives of the parliamentary group and the Assembly took part in the event as well, with remarks scheduled from Oliver Spasovski and Assembly Vice‑President Antonio Milososki.

Following the formal addresses, organisers presented two exhibitions: "Returning the Memory of Kherson" and an exhibition dedicated to Ukraine's World Heritage sites protected by UNESCO. The session also included the presentation of the Macedonian translation of the novel by Vasil Shkljar, "Crniot gavran: ostanatiot" (The Black Raven: the Remaining).

Speakers underlined the political and cultural dimensions of the gathering: the diplomatic addresses reaffirmed support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the Crimean Platform, while the exhibitions and the book presentation aimed to deepen public awareness of recent events and Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

The event in the Assembly brought together members of different parties within the interparty group alongside foreign diplomats and cultural organisers, combining a diplomatic message with cultural commemoration on the occasion of Ukraine’s national holiday.
