Specialist trainee Darko Vasilevski continues hunger strike outside Faculty of Medicine
Vasilevski says he was rejected from three vacancies without explanation and seeks a formal re‑examination of his non‑selection.

Specialist trainee Darko Vasilevski continues a hunger strike in front of the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Medicine after being rejected from three job openings without explanation.
Vasilevski says that, during the selection process, more weight was given to his age — 45 — than to his professional qualifications and experience. He has publicly demanded that his non-selection be reviewed.
He insists he will not surrender his protest, and says that so far no representative from the Ministry or the Dean’s Office has come to speak with him.
Responses from the Faculty and trainee association
The Faculty of Medicine told Vasilevski that, in the advertised vacancies, the two best candidates were selected; Vasilevski rejects that explanation and continues to seek a formal re-examination of the decisions.
The Association of Specialist Trainees said it immediately requested information from the Dean’s Office, received the requested documents and accepted them. The association urged that any disagreements be resolved through institutional and legal mechanisms rather than by endangering one’s health.
