26-year-old killed on Plasticharska (Nikola Karev Boulevard) in Skopje
Gunman on a motorcycle fired at the man; he died overnight after treatment at the Clinical Centre in Skopje; suspect reportedly a prisoner released for the weekend is being sought.

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot last night on Nikola Karev boulevard — commonly known as Plasticharska — in Skopje, police say.
Incident and medical response
The victim was struck by gunfire fired from a person riding a motorcycle. He was seriously wounded and taken to the Clinical Centre in Skopje, where doctors attempted to save his life; he died during the night.
After the shooting the attacker fled the scene and remains at large. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate the suspect.
Unofficial information indicates the person suspected of firing is someone who is serving a prison sentence and had been released for the weekend; that individual is currently being searched for by investigators.
Initial leads suggest the killing may be connected to clashes between criminal groups linked to drug trafficking. The name of the criminal group Belanoca is mentioned in the information under review, but any motive or ties to that group have not yet been officially confirmed.
Police and the public prosecutor's office are working to clarify the circumstances of the attack, determine the motive and apprehend those responsible.
