Tetovo emergency worker charged after team was not sent to injured person

An employee of the Emergency Medical Service at the Public Health Institution (JZU) Tetovo will face criminal charges after police say no ambulance crew was dispatched to assist an injured person in the village of Dobroshte.

The Ministry of Interior (MVR) reported that a complaint was also filed against the employee’s supervisor. The case concerns an incident on June 29, 2026, when the 35‑year‑old employee received a telephone report at the Emergency Medical Service in Tetovo but did not send a team to the injured person in Dobroshte and informed her supervisor of that decision.

Police action

The Tetovo Police Department (SVR Tetovo) submitted a criminal complaint against I.V. (35) and I.M. (51) of Tetovo, both employed at the Emergency Medical Service of JZU Tetovo, on grounds of suspicion for the criminal offense of “failure to provide medical assistance.”

According to the police filing, the first‑reported person accepted the call on June 29, 2026 but did not dispatch a medical team to the scene in Dobroshte. The employee then notified the second‑reported person, who was the unit’s supervisor.

The investigation is now in the hands of SVR Tetovo and the criminal procedure will determine whether charges proceed to court.
